Bundesliga Kane Opens Goal Account With Bayern Munich In League Opener

Harry Kane opened his Bundesliga goal account as he scored his first goal in the Bayern Munich’s 4-0 at Werder Bremen in his starting debut in Germany on Friday.

Midway through the second half of the season opener, Kane, who provided the assist for Bayern’s first goal after only three minutes, received a pass from Alphonso Davies, and he slid the ball past custodian Jiri Pavlenka.

Then, Mathys Tel, a young man, took his place.

Kane became the first Englishman to score and assist on his Bundesliga debut, and the first Bayern Munich player to do so since Leroy Sané in September 2020.

After spending his entire professional career at his boyhood club, Kane parted ways with Tottenham on Saturday in a contract worth an initial 100 million euros ($110 million, £86 million).

Kane claimed that his choice to sign with the German giants was motivated by a desire to put an end to a personal quest for greatness.

The 30-year-old left as Tottenham’s all-time leading scorer with 280 goals, and he also holds the record for most international goals scored by England.

He has yet to receive a trophy for his club or nation, though.
