Bundesliga Kane’s arrival has had immediate impact at Bayern Munich – Tuchel

Thomas Tuchel believes Harry Kane’s arrival at Bayern Munich has had an immediate impact on the club.

Hours after being announced as a Bayern player, the England captain came on as a 64th-minute substitute in Bayern’s 3-0 loss to Leipzig in the German Super Cup on Saturday. Kane indicated Sunday that he might need time to adapt to Bayern after 19 years at Tottenham.

Tuchel said Kane will start Friday’s game “if nothing happens today, nothing extraordinary,” and said he was fitting in well with the rest of the Bayern team. “My first impressions of Harry are fantastic,” Tuchel said. “He is a top professional, the quality is outstanding, and he’s a fantastic human being, he is very open, he’s first on the training pitch, and he is open in the dressing room. I think he has an immediate effect in the dressing room with his personality, his approach to football, and his love for the game, you feel it every day. You feel it in every little exercise.”

Kane left Spurs as their all-time top scorer with 280 goals in 435 appearances and won the Premier League Golden Boot three times with a total of 213 goals from 320 games. He is also England’s all-time leading scorer with 58 international goals and was the top scorer at the 2018 World Cup.

Kane is yet to win a trophy in his career and despite missing out on his first chance at silverware last Saturday, Tuchel said Kane will not be distracted by his pursuit of honours.

“This is not the first time in his career that he faces [pressure],” said the former Chelsea and Paris St-Germain manager. “He has learned to translate pressure into performances. For over a decade, he knows how to handle pressure. I have absolutely no concerns about that.”

Bayern fans will get to see Kane at the Allianz Arena when their first home league game takes place against FC Augsburg on August 27.
