Nigerian Players abroad Iheanacho, Ndidi In Action As Leicester Beat Rotherham

Super Eagles stars Kelechi Iheanacho and Wilfred Ndidi were in action as Leicester city claimed a 2-1 win over Rotherham in the EFL Championship.

In a clash that involved three Nigerians it was Kelechi Iheanacho and Wilfred Ndidi who got the better end over Frank Onyedinma who plays for Rotherham 2-1.

Despite a goal from Onyedinma, the Foxes were able to defeat their hosts thanks to two goals from Kasey McAteer.

After Onyedinma’s early second-half strike cancelled out Leicester’s first goal, which Iheanacho assisted on, they had to wait until late in the game to secure a victory.

Onyedinma put in a strong performance for Rotherham and scored his second goal of the year, so he would have been sad to come out on the losing end.

Iheanacho sent a beautiful cross for Kasey McAteer to set up a chance that was harder to miss than score, which helped Leicester grab the lead in the first half.

Iheanacho’s assist marked the Super Eagles forward’s first in the EFL Championship this year as he adjusts to life in the lower echelons of English football.

The EFL Cup matchup between Leicester and Tranmere is coming up, and Iheanacho has previously proven his talent there by scoring and providing an assist in a 2-0 victory over Burton in the previous round.
