Women Football Ampem Darkoa Thrash Sam Nelly FC To Set Up Jollof Derby With Delta Queen

Ampem Darkoa Ladies, champions of the Ghanaian Women’s Premier League, displayed their power as they advanced to the final of the ongoing WAFU B Champions League qualifications.

The team’s outstanding performance was highlighted by their spectacular 6-1 semifinal victory over Sam Nelly FC on Monday.

Ampem Darkoa Ladies showed off their talent from the start, making it difficult for their rivals to keep up.

A dominant 4-0 lead was rapidly built by the Techiman-based team in the first half, laying the stage for their triumph.

Within the first minute of the game, Tracey Twum scored the game’s first goal to start the scoring frenzy.

Twum maintained her momentum and scored her second goal in the eleventh minute.

The team’s cohesiveness was demonstrated in the 18th minute when Mary Amponsah expertly converted a free kick that had been supplied by Nancy Amoh.

The first half dominance was then completed just before halfway by a fourth goal from Ophelia Serwaa Amponsah.

Ampem Darkoa Ladies resumed their focus after the break.

In order to increase the advantage to 5-0, midfielder Nancy Amoh fired a strong shot from a distance that found the back of the net in the 66th minute.

Sam Nelly FC put forth a gallant effort and scored a consolation goal, but Ampem Darkoa was the winner on the day.

In the 69th minute, the game’s star, Tracey Twum, finished off her hat-trick, cementing both the victory for her team and her own role in it.

Due to their outstanding performance, Ampem Darkoa Ladies will compete in the championship match.

They will compete against the Delta Queens of Nigeria in what looks to be a thrilling championship match.

The championship game is slated to take place at the Samuel Ogbemudia Sports Stadium in Benin City on Thursday, August 31, 2023.
