Samuel Chukwueze, a Super Eagles winger, stated that although they respect Sao Tome and Principe, they are hoping to defeat them once more with a decisive victory.

In the rematch in June 2022, Nigeria defeated both teams 10-0.

At the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo, Jose Peseiro’s team is the clear favourite to win the match on Sunday.

Chukwueze also wants the Eagles to finish the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualification process in a grand fashion.

“We defeated them 10-0 the last time we met and it will be nice to go higher than that this time around.

“But in football, you have to respect your opponent as well.

“They won’t want a repeat of the first leg result and will give us a good fight.

“For us, it is important to make the fans happy.

“They will be looking forward to another big win and we can’t afford to disappoint them,” Chukwueze told Complete Sports.
