Africa Soccer AFL: End Of The Road For Mazembe In Tunisia

After losing (1-0) to Tout Puissant Mazembe at the Benjamin Mkapa Stadium in Dar Es Salaam on Sunday, the Tunisian team easily made up ground this Thursday night at home, defeating the Congolese 3-0.

This was made possible by Oussama Bougerra (45th and 76th) and Mohamed-Amine Tougai (86th).

The Wydad-Enyimba battle winner will be the Sang et Or’s opponent when they return to the final four.

Tout Puissant Mazembe presented itself Thursday evening at the Radès Olympic Stadium for the return leg of the African Football League (AFL) quarterfinals, facing Esperance in Tunis, based on the modest advantage (1-0) it had in the first leg.

The Tunisians were easily able to catch up after being pushed by a large crowd.

A large mob pushed them, but the Tunisians caught up with ease.

They dominated the entire game, giving Mundeko and his companions little opportunity as they attempted to get the ball into their nets three times.

We anticipated a close game between two squads who are used to playing in African competitions (10th meeting since 2010).

The mood of the game was established right away. Rodrigo Rodrigues Silva lit the first fuse in a mere three minutes.

Ben Hamida crosses the ball strongly from the left flank, forcing goalie Baggio SIADI to make a great save to send the ball back for a corner.

At the beginning of the game, the Esperantists’ pressure is still 100%. In the 14th minute, Mohamed Amine Tougai’s header from a right corner almost missed the goal.

At the very end of the first session, Bougerra headed a corner taken by Hussein Teka into the Lush club’s goals (45th), capping Tarek Thabet’s foals’ dominance.

Ensconced in its own half, TP Mazembe concluded the opening period without ever posing a threat to the Tunisian defence; attempts at counterattacks were frequently thwarted by the reds’ and yellows’ aggressive pressing.

Thus, both matches end in a perfect tie, signaling the beginning of an even more exciting second act.

Zemanga (midfielder), Luzolo (defender), and Beya (attacker) were the three players Lamine N’Diaye substituted at the beginning of the second half in an attempt to infuse more energy into his virtually nonexistent squad in the game’s opening half.

However, the Tunisians continue to be the first to demonstrate their danger. Goalie Baggio SIADI steps in once more to deny Yan Sasse (60th), who was in a prime position in the area, and then blocks a recovery attempt by Teka from the subsequent corner.

At last, Mazembe makes an impression during a counterattack spearheaded by Philippe Kinzumbi, who sneaks into the area and deftly inserts a shot that is blocked by Memmich (62nd).

After another right-side attack from Kinzumbi (in the 64th minute), the Tunisian custodian parries a shot from Glody Likonza, who had been in the vicinity.

Before the 76th-minute break, which was signed by Oussama Bouguerra, there was a brief period of terror for Esperance.
The Algerian Amine Tougai firmly dampened the aspirations of TP Mazembe by victoriously heading a free kick from the Brazilian Yan Sasse came from the left (86th ) .

He anticipates the exit of goalkeeper Baggio SIADI who miscalculated the trajectory of the ball.

A magnificent Tunisian squad emerges victorious, 3-0, and that result sets the tone for the remainder of the campaign.

In the semi-final, she will take on the victor of the Wydad-Enyimba duel. In the opening match, the Moroccans prevailed in the away leg.
