Africa Soccer AFL: Wydad Send Enyimba Packing After 3-0 walloping

The expectation of Nigerian champions Enyimba International turning the table against Wydad Casablanca in the second leg of the African Football League was crushed on Thursday evening as they suffered a 3-0 defeat in Morocco.

The Moroccan giants had earlier won a good outcome in the first leg of the African Football League by defeating in Uyo.

Held at Rabat’s renowned Stade Mohammed V field, the previous African champions controlled the match from the start, and El Amoud’s goal in the fourth quarter proved to be the reward for their hard work.

Attiyat Allah Yahya scored the game’s third goal in the 44th minute, capping a comfortable first-half lead for the hosts after Harkass had doubled their lead in the 38th minute.

The People’s Elephant tried to come back into the second half with stronger energy but they were unable to break down the well-organised Wydad defence as the game finished 3-0.

The result means Wydad qualified for the semi-final 4-0 over the two legs and will meet Esperance of Tunisia in the last four.
