Africa Soccer 2026 WCQ : Togo force Sadio Mane’s Senegal to goalless draw in Lome

The Sparrowhawks of Togo have made a spectacular performance against African Champions Senegal tonight in Lome forcing them to a goalless draw (0-0) on 2026 World Cup African qualifiers matchday 2.

The Teranga Lions were running after their second consecutive win in this campaign after the inaugural one against South Sudan (4-0).

However, they felt on a well-organized Togolese side which was even more dangerous than them. Edouard Mendy had to multiply saves to save the draw point for AFCON defending Champions as Sadio Mane was not really inspired.

The game ended in a stalemate with both sides being unbeaten after two games in these qualifiers. But Senegal remain on top of the Group (F) while Togo seats fourth with two points pending the next games in June 2024 after the Africa Cup of Nations in Côte d’Ivoire.
