African players abroad Onyekuru scores brace but Al Feyha fall to Damac

Nigeria international, Henry Onyekuru grabbed a brace as his side Al Feyha suffered a 4-2 defeat against Damac in the Saudi Pro League at King Salman Sports City Stadium on Friday night.

Cameroon international Georges-Kevin N’Koudou put Damac ahead from the penalty spot in the 16th minute before Abdulaziz Al Shahrani made it 2-0 in the 36th minute off a cross from N’Koudou. The 26-year-old Onyekuru then reduced the deficit for Al Feyha in the 56th minute.

A cross from Ivory Coast international Ghislain Konan found Onyekuru with a lot of space outside the box, and he dribbled past two defenders before drilling it home using his right foot. However, in the 65th minute, N’Koudou restored Damac’s two-goal lead but two minutes later, Onyekuru made it 3-2 in favour Al Feyha after finishing off a cross from Zambia international Fashion Sakala.

In the stoppages, Gambia forward Assan Ceesay put the game beyond Onyekuru’s side with a beautifully taken effort. Onyekuru came out two days ago to publicly indicate his desire to represent the Super Eagles at the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament set for January in Cameroon.
