Nigeria Premier League Katsina United Chairman Orders kits Manager To Pay For NPFL Fine

Katsina United Chairman Kabir Dan’lami announced that the team’s kits manager and technical crew would reimburse the club for the one million naira punishment that the Nigeria Premier Football League board levied against it for violating the dress code.

In a league game against Sporting FC of Lagos, a Katsina United player wore a shirt with a scrawled number on it.

Therefore, the League management slapped the club with a one million naira fine for tarnishing the League’s reputation.

In response, Kabir Dan’lami Rimi, the Chairman of the Katsina Interim Management Committee, issued the following statement, which was seen by Nasir Gide, the Media Officer:

“Chairman of Katsina United Interim management committee Alh Kabir Dan’lami Rimi has to take action against the Club Technical Crew for allowing a wrong mode of dressing by a Katsina United FC player during their encounter against Sporting FC.

“The chairman expressed dismay over what he described as unprofessionalism and vow to take drastic measures against the culprit.

Alh Kabir Dan’lami stated that although the technical crew and the team manager are aware of the league’s dress rule, they chose to utilise a player who was not dressed appropriately, which he found to be inappropriate.

“Therefore the technical Crew along side the suspended Kits Manager will pay the fine of one million naira impose on the club by the league body following the incident.”
