Nigeria Sports Minister Hails Super Falcons For Booking WAFCON 2024 Ticket

The African Women’s Cup of Nations, to be held in Morocco the following year, is open to Nigeria’s Senior Women’s National Team, or Super Falcons.

Senator John Owan Enoh, the Minister of Sports Development, is congratulating them on their success.

Senator Enoh claimed the Super Falcons demonstrated incredible perseverance and unity by winning critical games during the qualifiers to guarantee their place in the highly sought-after African Women’s Cup of Nations.

Speaking on the national stage, he complimented the Super Falcons for their superb job of stylishly portraying the nation.

The Minister emphasised the importance of women’s football in Nigeria, highlighting the Super Falcons’ vital role in inspiring aspiring players and fostering a welcoming and competitive culture across the nation.

As the Super Falcons continue to demonstrate exceptional skill and resilience, Senator John Owan Enoh reaffirmed the government’s steadfast support for women’s football.

In their last hurdle, the Super Falcons edged Cape Verde 2-1 in Praia, to claim a 7-1 aggregate win and confirm their ticket for Morocco 2024.

The Madugu-led team came from behind through goals from Esther Okoronkwo and Rasheedat Ajibade to pick the win.

Nigeria is the most successful team in the tournament, winning 9 out 13 editions of the biennial championship.
