Kenya Patron Nyamweya calls out imposters relegating Shabana FC

Shabana FC patron Sam Nyamweya has named and shamed the people he believes are behind the team’s poor run of results in the FKF Premier League.

In a signed statement obtained by Africa Top Sports, Nyamweya further said he would rally Omogusii leadership, fans, and other stakeholders to reclaim “our team before they are relegated from the league.”

“I have read with dismay a letter signed by one Elizaphan Kerama purporting to write as Secretary of the Shabana and would like to state as follows: The Registered bonafide Secretary for the Shabana is Peter Omwando. He is the one legally mandated to communicate on behalf of the club. Omwando has been writing official communications to the federation, signing cheques, and official communication.

“Kerama has been the problem for the team as he was instrumental in awarding Governor Simba Arati a fake certificate for the patron. He does not have such powers. That exercise is illegal. He should stop any association with the club immediately.”

Nyamweya added: “He [Kerama] is using Shabana as a stepping stone to contest for a parliamentary seat in one of the constituencies in Kisii. He is part of the people taking the team to relegation and he must be called out.

“As the patron, I will now take regal redress and rally Omogusii leadership, fans, and other stakeholders to reclaim our team. This team we cherish and will never allow it to drop to the National Super League.”

After suffering a 2-0 defeat against Kakamega Homeboyz at Bukhungu Stadium on Sunday, Tore Bobe dropped to position 16, two places above the relegation zone, with 11 points from 14 matches. They have two wins, five draws, and suffered seven defeats.
