Tunisia will have to navigate the remainder of the Africa Cup of Nations without their striker Taha Yassine Khenissi after he was ruled out of the Ivory Coast tournament.
Khenissi suffered a significant injury against Namibia during their opening shock 1-0 defeat against Namibia on Tuesday. He started the game but was withdrawn after just 15 minutes to be replaced by Haythem Jouini.
According to a statement from Tunisia FA, the striker, who turns out for Kuwait SC, will miss the remainder of the tournament.
“Following the injury he suffered in the Namibia match, Taha Yassine Khenissi underwent an MRI examination on Wednesday, which confirmed his injury to the internal ligament of the knee,” read part of the statement.
“This injury will prevent him from continuing to participate in the AFCON.”
