Kenya Shabana FC management given three game ultimatum or face the axe

Shabana FC management led by chairman Jared Nivaton have been given an ultimatum to win their next three Football Kenya Federation (FKF) Premier League matches or they will be forced to step aside.

During a closed door crisis meeting chaired by the club Patron Sam Nyamweya at Hill Park Hotel in Nairobi, members in attendance also called on the political leadership of Gusii both in Nyamira, Kisii Counties and in the diaspora to come together for the welfare of the club.

Tore Bobe have had a torid campaign since making a return to the top-flight following a 17-year wait and they now find themselves struggling to keep their status as they are languishing second from the bottom of the 18-team table with only 12 matches remaining to conclude the season.

“We give the leadership an opportunity to pull together and ensure the 12 upcoming matches and other competitions that Shabana participates in are given all the attention and support they need to ensure that the team is not relegated,” read part of the resolutions from the meeting signed by Nyamweya.

The statement added: “That an ultimatum is given to leadership to ensure the next three matches are delivered otherwise the management will be asked to step aside and a caretaker committee takes over for the remainder of the season.”

Shabana’s next three matches will see them host Bandari at Machakos Stadium on March 2 before returning to the City to face KCB on March 9 and then host Posta Rangers on April 6 after the FIFA international break.

The meeting further resolved to support the tehnical bench led by Sammy ‘Pamzo’ Omollo by saying: “That the coach and the technical bench be given all the support they need to deliver results and rhe fans be given an opportunity in the main leadership and be co-opted in the management meetings for effective planning and coordination.”
