CAF CONFEDERATION CUP CAFCC: Rivers United Defeat Dream FC To Reach Quarterfinals

Rivers United are through to the quarterfinals of the CAF Confederation Cup after a 2-1 win over Dreams FC of Ghana at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium in Uyo.

Rivers United who are Nigeria sole representatives in all CAF competition rallied back from a goal down to beat their Ghanaian opponent.

The visitors went front in the 40th minute through Abdul Aziz Issah to silent the Rivers United supporters.

Echeta Deputy leveled for Rivers United in the 61 minutes to give Rivers United a chance to still qualify to the knockout stage.

Kazie Godswill then hammered home the winner in the 90th minute to send Rivers United r the quarter finals.

In the other Group C game, Club Africain played a 1-1 draw with Academica do Lobito.

The result means Dream FC finished top of Group of Group C with 12 points while Rivers United finished second with the same pointa but less goal difference.

Moreso, Rivers United Qualification has also secured NPFL four slots on the continent for next season.
