Transfers DONE DEAL: Moses Ebiye – Nigerian striker signs for Motherwell

Motherwell have announced the deal to sign Nigerian attacker Moses Ebiye. The 26-year-old was a free agent after leaving Norwegian side Aalesund in January.

Ebiye has been training at Fir Park and impressed boss Stuart Kettlewell. In a statement on their official website, Motherwell confirmed: “Moses Ebiye has joined the club on a deal until the summer of 2025. The striker was most recently playing in Norway with Aalesund, where he departed the club in January.”

“This has been a long and arduous process,” Kettlewell said, adding: “A lot of people behind the scenes at the club have had to work very hard but we’re very excited to see what Moses can do in his time at the club.

“His goalscoring record in Norway is very impressive and we feel that is something that will benefit us as we go into the remainder of the season.”

On his part, Ebiye said: “I am very happy to have joined the club. It has been good training and getting to know the team. I hope I can make an impact in my time here.”

Ebiye burst onto the scene with Nigerian side Akwa United before he moved to Lillestrom in Norway. He scored three goals in his time there before moving to HamKam. He scored four goals and assisted on five occasions in 20 appearances before moving to Tromso in 2021.

The 26-year-old scored a further 12 goals an assisted nine times in 43 games and then joined Aalesund in 2022. The striker has 19 goals in the Norwegian top flight and has now arrived in Scotland, joining the club subject to international clearance.
