UEFA Champions League UCL: Barca Beat Napoli To Reach Quarterfinal After 4 Years

After defeating Napoli 3-1 in the second leg of their round of 16 match to win 4-2 overall on Tuesday, Barcelona advanced to the Champions League quarterfinals for the first time in four years.

Barca had an early lead in this very entertaining game, leading 2-0.

However, Napoli responded with a goal to set up a dramatic second half, which ended with Robert Lewandowski scoring a game-winning third goal for the home team.

Félix Fermin Lopez gave the home team the lead after 15 minutes, and Joao Cancelo increased that advantage two minutes later.

Barcelona appeared to be well on their way to a convincing victory before Napoli pulled one back through Amir Rrahmani in the 30th minute

After the interval, both teams had opportunities, but with seven minutes remaining, Lewandowski’s deft ball from Sergi Roberto gave Barca a much-needed third goal.

Napoli have now been eliminated at the last 16 stage of the UEFA Champions League in four of the five times they’ve reached this round, with the Italian side losing five of their six away games in the knockout stages overall.
