After a thrilling last-16 match that finished 1-1 on aggregate on Tuesday, Arsenal edged past Porto in a penalty shootout to advance to the Champions League quarterfinals for the first time in 14 years.
Following extra time, the game ended 1-0 in favour of the London club.
The hosts coolly converted their first four penalties, with Wendell of Porto hitting the post before David Raya stopped Galeno’s attempt to send Arsenal through 4-2 in the shootout.

Shortly before the half, Leandro Trossard’s effort tied the score on aggregate, but the Portuguese team frustrated Premier League leaders Arsenal.
Even though extra time was unable to break the tie, Mike Arteta’s team persevered to end a streak of seven straight eliminations at the last-16 stage.
