CAF Champions League CCL: TP Mazembe and Al Ahly fire blanks in first leg battle

TP Mazembe failed to capitalise on home advantage after settling for 0-0 draw in the first leg semi-final clash of the CAF Champions League on Saturday.

Ahly, the reigning champions, reached this stage of the tournament after dispatching Simba SC with a convincing 3-0 victory in the quarterfinals.

TP Mazembe, meanwhile, entered the semi-finals on a high note, having defeated Angola’s Petro Atletico 2-1 on aggregate in the quarter-finals and previously trouncing Egyptian side Pyramids FC 3-0 at the same venue.
