With 12 points remaining in the season, Napoli, who are nine points behind Roma in fifth place, may have a difficult finish to the campaign.

First-half dominance by Napoli saw both Victor Osimhen and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia come close to ending the scoreless draw.

Roma took the lead against the flow of play in the 59th minute when Sardar Azmoun was tripped by Juan Jesus and Paulo Dybala converted from the penalty spot.

Napoli equalised when Mathias Olivera’s shot went over Svilar and into the net after deflecting off defender Rasmus Kristensen.

When Kvaratskhelia was fouled in the box by Roma’s Renato Sanches, Osimhen scored the penalty to give the home team the lead in the eighty-fourth minute.

However, Abraham’s header at a flicked corner five minutes later tied the score for Roma.

The effort was first called offside, but after a few minutes, VAR overturned that decision.

Sixth-placed Atalanta and seventh-place Lazio are attempting to entice Roma, with Serie A assured of a fifth Champions League spot for the upcoming campaign.

With one game remaining, Lazio trails by four points and Atalanta trails by two points.
