Nigeria Nigeria : George Finidi fires warning to Super Eagles ahead of South Africa clash

Newly unveiled Super Eagles coach George Finidi has sent a clear message to his players ahead of Nigeria’s clash against South Africa in June for the the 2026 World Cup qualifiers.

The former Nigeria international has been unveiled during a ceremony held at the Nigerian Football Federation (NFF) headquarters in Abuja earlier on Monday as Africa Top Sports reported.

Finidi who signed a one-year contract with another in addition, made his mind clear on what he wants his players to look like in the national team.

“Nigeria comes first, that’s what I expect from every player I invite,” the former Jose Peseiro assistant said.

“You have to play as you play in your clubs and you must have commitment.

“The first targets are to qualify for the World Cup and AFCON and a win over South Africa will set the tone.”

The Super Eagles will take on South Africa first and then Benin Republic in Ivory Coast with the aim to earn their first win the qualifiers after the two draws against Lesotho and Zimbabwe.
