Africa Soccer WAFU B U17: Golden Eaglets Defeat Niger To Claim First Win

Nigeria defeated Niger Republic by a single goal at the University of Accra Stadium on Sunday, moving them to the top of group B of the WAFU B U17 Championship, alongside Burkina Faso.

In a match that saw Nigeria play the final 27 minutes with 10 men after Chibuike Okorie was given a red card, Rapha Adams’ strong header in the 31st minute proved to be the difference between the two West African neighbours.

With the victory, the five-time world champions are now tied with Burkina Faso with four points ahead of Wednesday’s group B attrition final day.
