UEFA Champions League UCL final : Dortmund aim to end Real Madrid streak – Edin Terzic

Borussia Dortmund head coach Edin Terzic said his side’s plan going into the UEFA Champions League on Saturday is to put an end to Real Madrid’s dominance in he tournament.

The Spanish giants won all of their last eight finals in the Champions League. An impressive run which shows how much they master this competition and why they are the most titled club in it with 14 triumphs.

Carlo Ancelotti and his men are looking for a 15th crown while Jason Sancho and teammates want to make history at Wembley.

“Anything is possible. If anyone has shown that, it’s us. It’s time for this Real Madrid’s streak of eight wins in eight finals, to end”, Edin Terzic said in a press conference on Tuesday.

“The most important thing is that our goal is to win the Champions League. To do that, we have to beat Real Madrid. They’ve won the competition five times in the last ten years. But none of that counts.

“Anyone who’s followed my approach to the knockout games knows that we’ve always broken it down to this one game. Anything is possible in one game, we’ve shown that often enough.

“It’s not a problem if you’re nervous. It’s only a problem when you’re alone. I have a great team around me that gives me confidence.

“They have managed to rebuild without losing quality. They’ll be safe again for the next ten years. And yet we’ve discovered one or two areas where they have problems. But Real have only lost two competitive games this season.

“It’s all about the game, we want to invest everything to really bring the trophy back to Dortmund. We haven’t been this close for a long time. We shouldn’t underestimate this situation because it won’t happen so often in the future. Now it’s about taking the final step.”
