Zambia interim coach Beston Chambeshi has started his work alongside Croatian Technical Adviser Aljosa Asanovic ahead of the World Cup qualifiers for Africa.
Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) website reports that the association’s president Andrew Kamanga and his crew welcomed the coaching panel this morning.
Chambeshi’s coaching panel also comprises assistant coach Karol Prazencia and video assistant Stefan Carevic.
FAZ says the coaches will serve the team for three months covering the World Cup qualifiers which get in motion on September 1.
Chambeshi was hired after the exit of Serbian Milutin ‘Micho’ Sredojevic who has since rejoined Uganda’s Cranes.
In a related development, Kamanga said they were banking on Europe-based stars such as Patson Daka, Enock Mwepu and Fashion Sakala in the forthcoming World Cup qualifiers.
“It is by having more players in top European leagues that we can have greater chances of taking our national team to the World Cup which remains an elusive target. We believe that once the World Cup qualifiers kick off on September 1, 2021 we can count on the form of some of our top players,” Kamanga told FAZ website.
