Foot Africa Zambia New Coach Beston Chambeshi Meeting With FAZ President

Beston Chambeshi has commenced his short-term duties as Chipolopolo coach as the build-up to the FIFA World Cup 2022 Qatar Group B qualifiers slowly comes to life.

The Nkana coach has been placed in interim charge for the next three-months following the departure of Serbian Milutin ‘Micho’ Sredojevic. The Serbian coach stepped down by mutual consent on July 17 after seventeen months in charge.

Chambeshi and his Croat technical advisors’ first item on the agenda was a meeting with FAZ President Andrew Kamanga on Tuesday in Lusaka.

Coach Beston Chambeshi and Technical Advisor Aljosa Asanovic were officially welcomed at Football House this (Tuesday) morning.” A FAZ  statement  read.

The duo conferred with FAZ president Andrew Kamanga, his deputy Dr Justin Mumba, Technical Committee chairperson Mwansa Kapyanga and General Secretary Adrian Kashala.

“Chambeshi and Asanovic will be assisted by Karol Prazencia as assistant coach and Stefan Carevic who will serve as video assistant.” Continued the statement.

His first official engagement will be a Group B qualifier away against Mauritania on September 1 in Nouakchott. Thereafter, Zambia will return home to host Tunisia on September 5.

Chipolopolo will later face Equatorial Guinea in a Group B doubleheader away on October 6 in Bata and on October  10 at home in Lusaka.
