Diego Armando Maradona has legally recognized his son Diego Fernando in Argentina’s consulate in Dubai.

Maradona made the process of recognition, “as he had always said,” confirmed to Argentine media Jorge Auruccio who is the lawyer of Diego Fernando’s mother, Veronica Ojeda.

“He always said and now he is recognizing his son,” said the lawyer, who explained that from this moment, Maradona’s son “will receive full legal treatment that applies to any child, no more no less” .

Diego Fernando Maradona Ojeda was born on February 13 in Los Arcos sanatorium of Buenos Aires, in a cesarean delivery, and weighed 3.200 kilograms.

After knowing the birth of his son, the Argentine star, who works in Dubai as an advisor to companies organizing sporting events, announced he would travel to Buenos Aires to “recognize him”, but ultimately chose to do it through the consulate in the Arab country.

Once the news of Veronica Ojeda pregnancy was broadcast, family members of Maradona expressed their disappointment, mainly his daughters Dalma and Gianinna and his ex-wife Claudia Villafañe.

After several weeks of a feud powered by the press, Ojeda and Villafañe committed to justice to avoid mutual aggression, but Maradona’s daughters were very critical on the social networks.

The Court issued a restraining order that prevents Villafañe to be closer than 300 meters from the house where Veronica Ojeda lives, and within 100 meters of her for 120 days.

Away from the controversy, Maradona was seen with apparently a new girlfriend, Rocío Oliva, a 22-year old woman who plays for soccer club River Plate.

Diego Armando Maradona is also father of Diego Maradona Sinagra, born in Naples in 1986, after the Italian Justice determined the child was his son, whom he did not legally recognized.
