The trial of the South African Paralympics champion Oscar Pistorius, who is accused of murdering his girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp on the evening of Valentine’s Day in February 2013, will be prolonged until May 16, said Sunday the court in Pretoria.

A statement said: “The trial of Oscar Pistorius will continue in the High Court in Gauteng (Pretoria) Monday March 24 to Friday, April 4. It will then be stopped for a week due to the closure of the court. After the break, the trial will continue on Monday, April 14 to Friday, May 16, 2014.”
