First victory for Jacques Anouma in his quest for recognition after his disqualification in the president’s chair of the CAF.

The Court of Arbitration for Sport is planning a trial opposing Anouma to the CAF in the coming weeks.

On the site of the former President of the TFF (Togolese Football Federation), the news flow. “The Deputy Chairman of the Appeals Arbitration Division of the CAS issued today, January 9, 2013, an order in which the CAS declares itself competent to rule on the appeal of Mr. Jacques Anouma against the decision to dismiss his application to the Presidency of CAF”.

However, “in the case of interim measures sought by Mr. Anouma before a decision on the merits in this case, the CAS did not approve.”

The President of the AFAD, a club in Ivory Coast, wanted a suspension of the electoral process and the CAF registration court injunction of Jacques Anouma’s surname on the list of contenders for the Chair of the CAF.

Last December during a congress of the CAF, the court has invalidated the candidacy of Jacques Anouma. Issa Hayatou remains the only candidate for the succession.
