AFCON CAMEROON 2021 Afcon 2013: Katelgo Mphela spoke to South Africa fans

Gordon Igesund who is a manager to South African team, understands the fans disappointment in the opening game on Saturday but attributed the poor performance to nerves.

Meanwhile, 50-cap striker Katelgo Mphela has vowedto end his country’s goal drought.

“Statistically you know I’ve played in these tournaments before and I’m the most experienced striker in this team, so I think I can be the difference.”

“Obviously we didn’t play well in our first game; we want to do well in our second one.

Hopefully I’ll get some goals for the team to get through to the next round.”

Igesund lamented on the “panic” that settled upon his Bafana team in the first game and suggested the quick balls into the strikers wasted 45 precious minutes. He wants his team to play through the midfield from the start and the return of DeanFurman to the centre seems as good a chance as any get the ball on the deck and starting using it.
