AFCON CAMEROON 2021 Adebayor : “I’m not a star in Togo”

Emmanuel Adebayor, the captain and star striker of the Hawks of Togo seems to be a little bit too humble. Questioned by our colleagues of RFI (Radio France Internationale) on his status in the selection, the Tottenham striker simply brushed aside any hand of star.

“Oh … I may be a star in Europe! But when I arrived in selection, this is set aside and I give everything to the team. I’m not above the others. Football is played to eleven, and if I start to play the star, it will not help me. Much less in the country. Yes, it is true that you respect me as captain and in relation to my career, but this is what I want to share with my teammates up. The most important thing is that it goes well between us and we respect that. “

Adebayor scored against Algeria last Saturday the first goal of his career in the finals of Afcon. A goal he hopes will appeal to others: “This is to mark in African Cup. This is my first and I hope there will be many more. Scoring goals is my job. “
