AFCON CAMEROON 2021 AFCON 2013: “Kwesi Appiah should be sacked” – Kojo Adu Asare

A past member of the Ghanaian Parliament for Adenta Constituency on Thursday during a radio program “Eko sii S3n” (how well did it go), emotionally charged the Ghanaian Coach Kwesi Appiah to be sacked upon the recent performance of the Black Stars.

According to him, the 51-year-old Ghanaian Coach has not lived up to expectation hence should be sacked.

He however questioned Appiah’s reasons for the substitution of Wakaso when he knew very well there would be penalties in the dying minutes of the game.

The former parliamentarian called after Burkina Faso had beaten Ghana a 3 – 2on penalties during the semi – finals on Wednesday.

He said with much emotion that the Ghanaian Coach and those on the technical bench were out of ideas. He however indicated that although he is in favour of a local coach, the ex- Ghanaian Captain has proven not to be capable of grooming the team for the World Cup.

Adu-Asare called on the Ghana Football Association to quit the machinations in the group and focus on nurturing a strong team before the World Cup.

The situation has called on a debate to whether Kwesi Appiah should be retained for the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.
