Here is the email he sent us:

Dear Friends,

The International Olympic Committee (IOC) has awakened a volcano that it thought asleep but in reality is boiling.

Even if the Executive Board of the International Olympic Committee has proposed to oust the wrestle from sports that make up the program of the Olympic Summer Games in 2020, countless people that represents this institution will, I am convinced, very sensitive to this wonderful and impressive mobilization in the world that our sport remains at the Olympic Games in 2020 and for eternity.

I wish I remembered that this is only a recommendation of the Committee, and we need to work closely with it and with all the IOC members for the fight quickly reinstates the group of sports missing in the Olympic program.

For us, wrestlers, IOC, this is our family ever since. In a family, a father and mother never abandon their children they saw born.

wrestling  is the Olympic universality in all its splendor. It is the encounter of traditions, cultures and of traditional wrestlings around the world. It is the encounter of men and women in combat, rich or poor with only one desire, to compete fairly without hatred and violence but only with the desire to implement a strategy of fighting with transcendence.

In Africa, where two children scuffle in the street “they fight and you never see people separate them, but when two children give kicks or punches they separate them immediately!

man first fought on this land before, to learn how to walk, and it is still a fighter that has been admired in the Apollo 11 Saturn V rocket when the aircraft took off from Cape Canaveral on 16 July 1969 he made Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin make the first steps on the moon, because the driver controlling the module was Michael Collins! A wrestling champion!

Long live the Olympic movement and the Olympic Wrestling live!
