The opening ceremony of the Algeria Cup of women’s boxing will not take place this Sunday as announced. According to APS, competitions are postponed to a later date due to the upcoming renewal of the federation’s office in charge of discipline.

“This sporting event was to be hosted by the sports hall of the Daira Ain Lebel from March 3 to 9 is deferred until the completion of the renewal of the Algerian federation of boxing,” said the head of department of sport and physical education, Mr. Mohamed Latreche.

The outgoing president Abdellah Bessalem (62 years) at the head of the federation since 2009 is a former boxer. The sports medical specialist was in business from 1989 to 2001. He is nominated for his own succession.
