Football Liverpool/Tom Werner: “we would be a stronger club with Suarez”

Swansea-v-Liverpool-Luis-Suarez-pa_28662451Liverpool chairman Tom Werner hails the Uruguayan international striker of Liverpool, Luis Suarez.

The top-form of the 26-year-old player since his return from his last season’s suspension after having bitten Chelsea’s Branislav Ivanovic made the club (Liverpool) keep him this summer though his desire to evolve elsewhere.

“There was interest in him from other clubs throughout the summer but it was important for us to try to keep him”, Werner said before continuing.“He is one of the great players of the world and we felt that we would be a stronger club with him than without him”.

The chairman moreover talks of forgetting the past with the player and handle the presence for a better future with the striker and the club.

“It is our intention to keep him for a while. Our intention is to build a winning club and he is integral to that. The past is the past and I have great affection for him personally,” he concluded.
