This is a real blow to English Premier League Liverpool. Liverpool boss Brenden Rodgers has revealed Daniel Sturridge will away from lawns for eight weeks due to an ankle injury.

Sturridge suffered the injury at the club’s Melwood complex on Friday, not long after Rodgers had talked up his impressive performances in training.

The club confirmed on Saturday they were awaiting results of a scan after he apparently sprained his ankle and they have shown strained ligaments, ruling him out until the New Year.
