Vincent Kompany will be well and truly present against Russia. The defender and captain of Belgium, hit in the groin and missing the training of Red Devils Friday, thinks he can take his place for the second match of Belgium Sunday against Russia.
“I’m fine, thank you,” said Vincent Kompanyavant Saturday in training. “If all goes well today, there should be no worries,” said he added.
The Red Devils play their second game of the FIFA World Cup on Sunday in Rio de Janeiro. Vincent Kompany and his teammates will trample the lawn of the prestigious Maracana stadium and face Russia of Italian coach Fabio Capello.
In case of victory, Belgium will be certain to compete in the second round.
