Africa Champions league: Two scenarios under consideration at CAF

Two projects are currently under consideration at the African Football Confederation to complete the 2019-2020 season in the African Champions League.

The CAF still keeps hope to resume its competitions this summer, and this after several months of hold due to coronavirus outbreak. At least that’s what a discussion paper suggests. It evokes different ways of closing the Champions League (C1) and the Confederation Cup (C2) 2019-2020. It also discusses possible scenarios for subsequent editions (2020-2021) to be completed on time.

The first scenario is to play the semi-finals first leg matches on 31st, July, 1st or 2nd August. The semi-finals second leg would take place on 7th, 8th or 9th August. In this perspective, the final will take place on 23rd or 28th August.

The second scenario is to play the first leg semi-finals on 4th, 5th or 6th September. The second leg matches would be played on 11th 1th or 13th September. Then the final will be held on 23rd or 25th September.
