Africa Michael Essien : Ghanaian Midfielder’s First Steps as Player-coach

While he left Azerbaijan a few weeks ago, Michael Essien gives a new meaning to his career. He joined Denmark to be a player-coach.

Essien landed at the Nordsjaelland club. The former midfielder from Chelsea joined the coaching staff of the Danish team. He will also reportedly participate in the team’s training as a player. A kind of player-coach.

Essien left FC Sabail last July. At 37, his contract with Nordsjaelland is for a season.

Moreover, the Danish club is known for its Ghanaian tradition. Mas-Ud technician Didi Dramani is currently an assistant coach. And the team has not less than 8 players. It is the result of the partnership with the Right to Dream academy based in the West Africa country.
