Premier League Chilwell Scores In Premier League Debut As Chelsea Clip Eagles Wings

It was a good day at the office for Chelsea who got their first clean sheet of the season following a 4-0 trouncing of Crystal Palace at Stamford Bridge.

Frank Lampard made six changes to the squad that played a 3-3 draw against West Brom on Matchday 3 at the Hawthorns.

New signing Edouard Mendy, Ben Chilwell ,Tammy Abraham were included in the starting XI with Calum Hudson-Odoi handed a starting berth following high-performance last week.

Chelsea took control of the first half and could have broke the deadlock through Abraham but Crystal Place goalkeeper Vicente Guaita made a fine save.

Mamadou Sakho’s header from an Andros Townsend cross was the best chance that the Eagles created as both sides ended the first half goalless.

Chilwell marked bus debut with goal putting Chelsea in front just five minutes into the second half in his 100th league appearances.

The former Leicester City left back went on to provide an assist for Kurt Zouma to who double the lead for the Blues in the 66th minute.

Chelsea then went on to add two more goals with 12 minutes from time.

Crystal Palace player Tyrick Mitchell fouled Abraham right inside the box as Jorginhobstepped forward to convert the spot kick.

Four minutes later Sakho brought down Kai Havertz inside the box and the second penalty was awarded and again it was Jorgingo wo scored to make it 4-0.

The victory is Chelsea’ second of the season a they moved up to fourth with seven points.

Their next game will be against Southampton after the international break
