Without being impressive, Senegal obtained a third consecutive success in the 2021 AFCON playoffs. Win 2-0 this Wednesday over Guinea-Bissau. Despite some important absentees, Senegal could rely on Sadio Mané. But the Lions struggled in the game and were worrying in the first half notably Mama Baldé. The Dijon striker worried the defence of Edouard Mendy without succeeding in hitting the net. The Lions insisted and obtained a penalty just before the break. Mané converted. 1-0 for the first half.

On the return from the locker room, Senegal controlled their opponents. Aliou Cissé’s men took advantage to score a second goal. On an assist from Mané, Opa Nguette scored the second goal.

Mission completed for Senegal which remains strong leader of their group with 9 points. Guinea-Bissau keep their 3 points with the hope to increase it within 3 days when hosting the Lions for the qualifyiers 4th gameday.
