Foot Africa 2021 AFCON Qualifiers : News On Egyptian Players Physical Conditions

Egypt host Togo on Saturday for 2021 AFCON qualifiers double-header in group G. A group they share alongside Kenya and Comoros.

For the first leg game taking place in Cairo International Stadium, Egyptian national team’s director unveiled players’ physical conditions. Mohamed Barakat has assured that the team contains no injuries ahead of the encounter with Togo.

Barakat stated that Mohamed Hamdy El-Wensh suffers from no injuries. While Ahmed Hegazi was rested from Monday training due to jetlag.

El-Wensh is 100% fit. We have reached out to Zamalek’s medical staff and coordinated everything with them. He is ready to play.” Barakat told ON Sport channel.

El-Wensh’s good performances were what makes him qualified for a national team call up. If he was injured, he would never be summoned.

We are highly optimistic about the outcome of these two games. El-Badry always speaks with the players about how he wants the national team to look.

Hegazi joined the national team and took part in Monday training. But he was given a rest as he played only 48 hours ago.”

The Pharaohs had a poor start to the qualifiers, drawing their opening two games to Kenya and Comoros. And they will hope to get back to winning ways sooner than later.
