Former South Africa international Anele Ngcongca has died in a car accident early Monday morning, reports have confirmed.

The wing-back,33, reportedly died on the spot after the car he was travelling in veered off the road.

Reports say the accident happened in Northern Kwa Zulu Natal at around 5 am.

It is believed that Ngcongca was a passenger in the vehicle and the driver is in critical condition.

Ngcongca played for Mamelodi Sundowns before they released him to join AmaZulu.
