Egypt Ittihad Extending Contract For Damion Lowe Just After 10 Days In The Club

Jamaica international defender and captain Damion Lowe had arrived in Alexandria just 10 days ago. He was from American club Phoenix Rising FC for an undisclosed fee.

Three days after announcing the deal, Lowe made his debut for Ittihad in their narrow 2-1 defeat to Al Ahly. It was during the Egypt Cup semi-finals, before the Reds eventually won the final against El-Gaish.

The towering defender impressed on his debut against the African champions. His performance earned him a new contract extension.

Lowe had initially signed a two-year contract. But after his strong performances in the training sessions, head coach Hossam Hassan requested the club to add an additional year to his contract.

His contract will now run out in July 2023 and will hope to continue impressing. Especially with the arrival of compatriot and national team teammate forward Romario Williams just two days ago on two-year deal.

Prior to his time in Alexandria, Lowe had stints at the likes of Seattle Sounders FC, Minnesota United, Tampa Bay Rowdies, Phoenix Rising FC, and IK Start of Norway.
