Ligue 1 Simon Nantes manager fired following poor run of results

Moses Simon French Ligue 1 side Nantes has sacked their manager Christian Gourcuff following poor results from their recent games.

Nantes suffered a 4-0 defeat at home to Starsbourg in Sunday Ligue 1 game.

The defeat was their fourth consecutive loss so far this season which left them 14 place on the table winning three games with four draws and 6 loss.

Nantes in a statement on it’s official website thanked Gourcuff for his service.

FC Nantes and Christian Gourcuff decided to end their collaboration as of this Tuesday, December 8th, 2020.

“Arriving Aug. 8, 2019, just days before the start of the 2019-2020 season, Christian Gourcuff has brought his vision of football and all his experience to the professional group during its passage on the banks of the Erdre.

“FC Nantes sincerely thanks the Breton technician for his professionalism and wish him the best for the future.
 
The club has immediately announced Patrick Collot to take charge as interim to be assisted by members of the current coaching staff.

Starting today, the professional staff will be under the command of Patrick Collot who will serve as interim.

” He will be assisted in this task by the members of the current coaching staff.”
