Africa Soccer COSAFA U-20 : MOZAMBIQUE WIN TITLE

Mozambique won the Cosafa Under-20 Championship on Sunday 13th December 2020 after beating Namibia 1-0 in South Africa.

The competition, which acted as the qualifier for the Under-20 Afcon, took place at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium in Port Elizabeth.

Mozambique and Nambia have since sealed their places at the Afcon finals scheduled for Mauritania next year.

Dercio Augusto scored the only goal of the game via a free-kick and, there was no way back for Namibia.

Angola picked up the bronze medal for the third year in a row following a 1-0 win over deposed defending champions Zambia 2-1.

The only consolation for Zambia is that their captain Prince Mumba was named Player of the Tournament.

Mozambique goalkeeper Kimiss Zavala won the Golden Glove prize, while Sinenjongo Mkiva (South Africa) and Salvador shared the Golden Boot after their three goals.
