Africa Soccer DSTV PREMIERSHIP : CHIPPA FIRE SEEMA, HIRE EYMAEL

Luc Eymael

South Africa DStv Premiership strugglers, Chippa United have kept true to their tradition of hiring and firing coaches.

In the latest development, Chippa have sacked coach Lehlohonolo Seema and hired controversial Belgian Luc Eymael to the Port Elizabeth side.

Seema took a big risk when he quit Bloemfontein Celtic to join the Port Elizabeth-based team.

A statement from the club reads: “Chippa United have appointed Belgian Luc Eymael as senior head coach until the end of the season.

“The club confirms that it met former coach Lehlohonolo Seema on Wednesday, where the consensus from both parties was to part ways with immediate effect.”

Eymael coached South African clubs such as Free State Stars and Black Leopards and won silverware, before trekking to Egypt then Tanzania seeking greener pastures.

However, he courted a storm earlier this year when he was sacked as Yanga FC coach in Tanzania over comments that were seen as racist.

He denies such accusations.
