Egypt Why Ismaily FC Prefer Mohamed Wahba To Gamondi As Head Coach

Ismaily SC, decided not to sign Argentine manager Miguel Ángel Gamondi. The Egyptian Premier League side have appointed Mohamed Wahba as the club’s head coach instead.

Going into the season there were very high expectations for Ismaily. As they seemed to have one of the strongest transfer windows in the league, having signed the liked of Ary Paper and Fakhreddine Ben Youssef.

However, they struggled massively under Brazilian manager Heron Ricardo Ferreira. He who in his three games in charge was able to grasp just one point.

The club then appointed Talaat Youssef, who resigned just 48 hours later. And they were then on the verge of signing Wydad Casablanca head coach Miguel Ángel Gamondi.

In the meantime, club legend Mohamed Wahba took charge of the team as an interim manager. And we saw immediate improvement in terms of the team’s performance.

In his first game Wahba led them to a goalless draw against Bank Al Ahly. He tehn after helped secure their first three points with a 2-0 win over Aswan.

As a result, the club have decided to give him a chance at a full-time job after informing Gamondi of the decision.

The Yellows currently sit sixth on the league table with six points. And they will hope to keep improving when they face Misr El-Makkasa on Sunday, 3rd January 2021.
