Arsenal Boss Mikel Arteta said he is “really pleased’ with Pierre Emerick-Aubameyang’s mentality as he managed to score twice against Newcastle after having missed several opportunities.

Aubameyang could have scored at least one goal in the first half of Arsenal’s meeting against Magpies.

However, the Gabon international failed to do so as he was not skillful in front of the nets.

But things could not have gone much better for the 31-year-old striker in the second half as he scored twice to hand his side a well-deserved 3-0 win with the third one scored by Bukayo Saka.

That performance was a great one, said Arteta after the game.

“That is what he has done through his career and mentally you have to be really strong in order to do that, and come out of a difficult period where we miss his goals a lot and today he has come back and scored two and contributed to the team winning, which is exactly what we need. So I am really pleased for him.” the Boss told Arsenal media department.
