Zambia under-17 national football team has jetted off to Rabat, Morocco, ahead of the Under-17 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) finals.

Football Association of Zambia Facebook page reports that the team touched down at the Sale International Airport on Friday.

The Zambians completed their Covid-19 protocols before heading to Hotel Rihab which is nine kilometres from the airport.

Coach George Chilufya is in charge if the young Zambians.

The early arrival into Rabat will give the team enough time to acclimatize with the North African weather before the tournament kicks off,” FAZ Facebook page says.

Zambia will fine-tune for the competition by playing friendlies against Cameroon, Nigeria and FUS Rabat under-17 team.

Zambia are in Group A alongside hosts Morocco, Uganda and Ivory Coast, who they will battle in the opener on March 14 at the Moulay Hassan Stadium.
