Black Stars end AFCON 2021 qualifiers in style with a win against Sao Tome

CK Akonnor’s Black Stars confirmed their supremacy in group C of these AFCON 2021 qualifiers as they beat Sao Tome and Principe 3-1 in Accra this Sunday.

With UK-based players being cleared to play this game after missing that against South Africa (1-1) due to Covid-19 related issues, Andre Ayew, Jordan Ayew and Thomas Partey all start for the Black Stars.

However, the first Ghanaian goal was scored by Udinese loanee Nicholas Opoku. With the Amiens defender giving the home side the lead through a powerful header at the 12th minute. His first ever Black Stars goal.

Crystal Palace star, Jordan Ayew, made it two from the spot at the 30th minute. His 18th goal in Black Stars outfit.

Chelsea loanee Baba Abdul Rahman scored the third goal for Ghana at the 60th minute.

Sao Tome tried their best and managed to score a goal through Jokceleny Fernandes Carvalho. But it was helpless to avoid the loss.

Ghana and Sudan are the two qualified nations in group C.
